Soho Square for lunch
Ernst and I have had lunch in Soho Square most days this last week. It's 5 min walk from our office in central London and a popular place to hang out over lunch time when the weather is nice. Today we bought ciabattas, cheese, salami, lettuce and chocolate milkshakes at Tesco on the way.

Isle of Wight for the weekend!
We went to the Isle of Wight for the weekend, with some friends. Woke up at 5am on Saturday morning and took a train to Portsmouth, where we caught a ferry to Fishbourne. We hired bicycles and decided we'd easily cycle the 120km route round the 'island'... This is a photo taken from our ferry, of an identical ferry traveling in the opposite direction.
Navigating the Island
Ernst did a fantastic job of navigating the island- the cycle route was not marked very clearly, so we had to stop and consult the map at most intersections.
Ouch
Ernst lost balance on his way down a hill when he tried to scratch his face... I was behind him and watched the whole scene play out in slow motion. I realise there is nothing worse in the world than seeing someone you love, hurting. One of the locals who heard the crash gave us some antiseptic wipes and plasters. Ernst's wedding ring was badly scratched, his watch face smashed and his arms and legs badly scratched. Thank God his didn't have any bone or muscle inquiries and was able to recover and continue the trip.
The beach at Shanklin
As i said earlier... we thought we could easily cycle round the Isle, but by the time we reached Shanklin- about 24km into the trip- we decided to call it a day and asked the bike hire co to fetch our bikes! (there's only so long you can sit on a bicycle seat!!) We then bussed across the island (much easier), to Yarmouth where we spent the night.
Pub in Yarmouth
Yarmouth is a little village on the coast. We squeezed into a pub which was packed with England fans and had burgers and beer for supper and then watched the game with them, before leaving to set up camp in the local park... not my idea...
Camping
We had a reasonably good night sleep- the ground was hard, but we were exhausted! Made coffee over our gas stove in the morning and then set off to walk to 'the needles'- one of the most famous parts of the Isle...
View of 'The Needles'
We had a very adventurous morning walking along pebbled/bouldered and sandy beaches, climbing over fences, scrambling up a hill of wet clay and finally walking along the beautiful cliffs with the needles ahead- 'The Needles' are the western most point of the Isle of Wight and are a series of chalk stacks which protrude into the see at the end of which is a lighthouse. The sea around the Needles was notorious for shipwrecks.
View from the ferry
I took this photo from the ferry, as we left the Isle of Wight... The weather was so lovely on Sunday and the bay was still and beautiful- it looked like an exotic island...

Autumn in London
This is not a very spectacular photo, but it does show how the leaves are starting to fall as Autumn sets in. I took this picture on my way to the Greek Embassy, to fetch my visa for holiday to Greece at the end of October! Hope Autumn has not arrived in Greece yet! I'm buying a new bikini in faith...

Visit to Ro and Michael in Newington
Ro and Michael have just bought a 400 year old house in the village of Newington. Ernst and i took the train from Victoria and went to visit. We had a lovely day touring their fascinating house, watching rugby, walking through the countryside and having lunch and supper together.

Ernst and I went to see the musical 'The Lion King' with some friends in West London last night. The costumes were fantastic!
