Lion's Head

Ernst, Pieter, Amy and I hiked up Lion's Head on Monday afternoon. The views from the top are spectacular- you have a 360 degree view of Cape Town. We had pizzas and 'sinnfull' ice cream in Camps Bay afterwards.

My phone has an awesome function which enables me to take panoramic pics- it allows me to match up 3 pictures in a row.

My organic lettuce garden

I've planted 150 lettuce and herb plants into 16 pots outside the kitchen door! Over crowding is a bit of an issue- so we have baby leaf salad every day :o)

Deon and Elmy's Wedding

We went to Deon and Elmy's wedding on Saturday- it was so beautiful. The church service was at the NG Kerk in Paarl and the reception at Rusticana. Ernst was Deon's best man and did a great job with delivering a very funny speech. Rusticana is the first place Ernst and I had a photo taken together- we were there for an end of year church dance (my first year), each with different partners, but we did end up chatting for some of the evening... wow, lots has changed since then :o)

1st attempt at oil painting

It's been 6 years since I last picked up a paint brush, but i've decided to give it a go. I intend to improve and fill our house with paintings one day- watch this space :o)

Hiking up Du Toit's Kloof

Amy's dad took us on a hike up Du Toit's Kloof. Sarah joined us as she was staying over at her big sister for the weekend :o) This was the 3rd time Amy and I have hiked this trail- and it's amazing how it gets so much easier as we get older! First time was 10 years ago.

Swimming at the top!

The awesome thing about this kloofing trip is the waterfall and huge pool at the top. We all swam even though the water was like ice- lots of screaming!

Argus champions!

Pa and Ernst finished the Argus on Sunday- I'm very proud of them both- 109km is a long way!! The vibe in CT was amazing- beautiful weather with thousands of cyclists and supporters enjoying the event.

Elmy's pamper party

It was Elmy's kitchen tea party on Sat eve- had nothing to do with kitchens or tea :o) We went to a restaurant at Tyger Waterfront and drank cocktails. Everyone had to where something on their head- that wasn't a hat or a crown. The wedding is in 2 weeks!

Fishhoek

Amy and i took a drive to Fishhoek on Saturday. We swam for ages, tanned and walked along the beach. Was really awesome.

Was good to be out in the sun and remember lying on the same beach in the same spot when we were 18... i'm sure we'll remember today when we doing the same thing in our 80's.
