Arden's Dedication

We had Arden's dedication at our house last weekend. We kept it small- just Arden's grandparents, great grandparents, God parents, aunts and our church Elders. We had lunch, and then everyone had a chance to share scripture and pray for Arden. We dedicated him to God and ourselves to bringing him up in the ways of God, so that ultimately he can one day decide for himself, to make Jesus his Lord and Saviour. Arden listened attentively to all that was said.

Raine and Reece come to viz

Reece is a few months older than Arden... They seemed to get on well till Reece tried to sit on Arden and bite his head.

Constantia Uitsig

Our last stop was winetasting at Uitsig. I think we all realised again what an amazing place we live in.

Picnic at Uitsig

We had a picnic lunch at the Uitsig cricket pitch, which brings back lots of good memories- I spent many Sunday afternoons here watching my dad play cricket.

Little Star

Littlewoods were photographing for their winter catalogue, so Arden was all dressed up for snow, in the 40 degree heat...

Littlewoods photo shoot

Arden had a photo shoot for Littlewoods, a UK clothing co. this morning in Hout Bay- in a beautiful garden. The photos will be used for their catalogue-which will also be online in March.

Des gives birth

Kaylin Aimee was born yesterday morning at 5:15am. Des gave birth at home, completly naturally, with no medication. She was assisted by the same amazing midwife that helped me.

Arden flies Mango

Arden handled the flights very well-i think he enjoyed having his parents undivided attention. Actually fell asleep during takeoff.

Visiting Marot family farm

We stayed with my dad's brother, Tony and his wife Christine for the weekend. They took us up the North Coast on Sunday, to visit the family farm, Tara, which was my great grandfather's sugar cane farm, when he immigrated from Mauritius, and now belongs to his children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren... what a legacy.

Visiting family in Durban

Arden got to meet his great, great aunt Renee. She's my dad's dad's sister and at 80 is still extremely mentally and physically sharp. She really enjoyed seeing Arden.

Arden's first wedding

Arden was the only person to hold onto his confetti petal...

Chris and Heather's wedding

The wedding was held on a farm in the Natal midlands- which was green and lush. C&H shared their first kiss at the alter! It was a beautiful wedding and we enjoyed connecting with varsity friends.

Durban for the weekend

Ernst, Arden and I had supper at the Spur- at the airport, while we waited for our flight. We slightly lost track of time- which meant our names were called out as we ran through the airport and arrived last on the plane... A dramatic start for Arden's first flight!
