Carly came to visit us in Hong Kong for just over a week and we had a really lovely time. We haven't been able to spend so much time together since Varsity- when we were inseparable, so it was very special to see her. Pic taken on the ferry, crossing Victoria Harbour.
Day in Stanley, a popular holiday town in Hong Kong.
Stanley Pier.
Lunch on the Pier, before trawling through Stanley market.
Arden enjoying the beach.
Swimming at the beach in Stanley.
We swam all the way out to the platform which you can see in the distance.
While Ernst and Arden had fun in the sand.
Boarding the Peak Tram.
Walking the circular Peak Walk- a warm up to all the shopping which followed!
Street meat market.
Day in Sai Kung. Family photo.
We hiked section 2 of the Mac Lehose trail, 10km over about 5 hours- taking us past 3 beaches that can only be reached by foot and breath taking views of the sea and surrounding mountains. There were a few moments when we wondered if we would finish by night fall, or have to hike in the dark, or worse, sleep in the bush! But we did make it in good time- albeit wet from the rain and totally exhausted (in a good way). We went home and made homemade pizza and opened a bottle of wine- which was very well deserved and totally delish.
Arriving at the bus stop in the rain.
Unbelievable how the weather swung- from swimming in the South China Sea, to huddling under an umbrella while mist enveloped the tops of the buildings...
Wet market magic...
Out for supper.
Hanging out with Simon and Yorika after church in Sai Kung.
Boat trip to Hap Mun Bay Beach for the afternoon, for some swimming and tanning. Arden loving life and aunty Carly's attention.
On the beach.
