The Park

I was very excited about there being a park on one side of our block- turns out it's a water park- which they are busy cleaning and getting ready for summer. Not quite what I had in mind! There is a bit of a park on the far side of it- but parks in Hong Kong involve cement paths through blocks of grass which you may not walk on, and bushes which have been cut into animal shapes... That said, because the living spaces in Hong Kong are so small, the recreational facilities are very good- plenty of pools and 'parks' and sport facilities and Tai Chi areas round every corner.

Wow catherine, sounds wonderful! Well done! The food sounds frigtening - seafood makes me re-think a permanent nurient drip in my arm - so brave goosy with live fish "to kill" and eat...... Love all the photos of the flat, food, markets and all.........It has been terribly hot here. 42 degrees celcius, but is cooler and better now. Last week of the school holidqays and the children are finally happy to be at home and peaceful. Truly wonderful. Had our 15th wedding anniversary yesterday - graham surprised me with some crystal earings (15th year gift) and the girls a beautiful 5 page card. Hugs to all and well done again! Aunty Catherine

Hi Cath!
Di forwarded me your email... Wow what a culture shock! You guys are so brave and I'm sure your life will never be the same after this incredible experience.

I loved your story of Arden licking the train...hee hee! I don't know why the locals were so shocked though, since it probably also gets disinfected every hour, knowing them!

We're coming to the end of a really busy holiday season...my sister and fiance went back home to the Drakensberg last week and my other sister leaves for the Transkei tomorrow. Di and I are getting a bit anxious about our moms and tots group which starts on the 26th. Scary! But really looking forward to it too. Hope you can join us when you get back!

I should prob have emailed rather than commented...oh well.

I've loved seeing your pics and updates. Looking forward to following you on your journey (virtually that is...)

Lots of love to all 3 of you.
