Shopping at Park and Shop (like Pick n Pay)

The first time we asked someone for directions to 'Park and Shop', I asked if they knew were 'Park and Ride' was (blonde moment), to which I got a frown and the poor guy said 'Pork and Rib?' and directed me to the nearest fast food outlet... Above is a pic of me, eventually in 'Park and Shop'- the trollies are little mini ones- for mini Chinese people, at the fresh fish counter... you choose your fish and then they kill it for you... a little too much like a pet shop if you ask me... haven't ordered fish yet... still very vegetarian!
Above is a box of dragon fruit- ate one- it's like a white kiwi fruit, with the seeds scattered evenly inside. There are SO many exotic new fruit and veges. Just not sure how one would go about eating most of them- lots to learn. Bread and milk are not staples here- bread is expensive and comes in packets of 8 slices. Milk- try soya milk! Yoghurt ranges from about R30- R60 for a 500ml tub and is all imported. So we've been adapting fast! Made different rice or noodle stir fry's all week- tried fried bean curd in our mung bean stir fry today... was ok :o)
